Phu is studying data science and real estate development at the University of California San Diego. He is from the San Francisco Bay Area and was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Phu was first introduced to data science when choosing his major for college, where he found the prospects and potential in leveraging data truly inspiring. He believes data is the next economy as vast amounts of data are generated unceasingly, and data is foundational to all technological advancements. His current interests span a multitude of fields, including data analytics, data systems engineering, and machine learning & AI. Through Biokind, Phu hopes to utilize his studies at UCSD in helping healthcare nonprofits effectively extract insights from data to improve operations and leave a positive, real world, impact on his community.
