Starting off, we have the ALS Network team, led by project lead Amna Ali! In the team, we have our data scientists: Tracy Fang, Abhinav Arun, Ningzhi Jiang and Arman Bardai. This team consisted of members of varying backgrounds to culminate into a thorough understanding of the datasets, providing for creating unique actionable recommendations.

Another team of ours worked with Claire’s Place, led by Andrew Wilk. Featured in our photos are our data scientists working to support this mission: Tushar Zhade, Daniel Yang, Chloe Chang, and Richard Zhang. Our Qbio focused team was supported by members also studying Computer Science and AI for business! We looked at donations, demographics and other metrics to support the foundation.

Last but not the least, Cancer Carepoint worked with our team led by Imani Musembi. Our data scientists here include: Varun Thakur, Shaaz Ali, Vaishnavi Kolluru, and Anmol Singhal. This team coming from various academic backgrounds brought together fresh ideas to come up with ways to utilize the data provided to leverage valuable insights.

Other than working in teams for our three clients, we managed to include activities to learn and have fun along the way! The semester saw a series of curriculum-based meetings and hands-on data science challenges to encourage our members to step out of their comfort zone and learn valuable data analysis skills outside the classroom. We also had a boba social, played games like data science Jeopardy and various other meeting activites to bring us growth and connection. Our final presentations featured final results of all the hard work from the semester. Each team shared their results, learned from peer feedback, and celebrated a successful semester. From analyzing programs and donations to visualizing demographics of the communities they serve, each team worked closely with their client to apply classroom skills to real-world challenges and make an impact. Look out for more updates for Spring ’25!
